New developments in the City, especially around St Pauls, Paternoster Square and the Millennium Bridge have been designed with open areas and road junctions. These spaces allow the light to fall and create an interesting background for street photographs. Modern architecture often uses large glass surfaces which create intense, synthetic lighting.
